Do you know about the community pharmacy contraception service?
Are you wanting a pill review or wanting to start the pill for contraception purposes and are struggling to get an appointment with your local GP surgery?
Did you know that our local community pharmacies can start and provide ongoing supply of the Combined Oral Contraception.
This applies to patients from menarche (have started periods) up to and including 49 years of age.
They can also start and provide ongoing supply of Progesterone Oral Contraception (POP) from menarche up to and including 54 years of age.
In our primary care network area, we currently have two pharmacies offering this service:
- Biggleswade Boots
- Biggleswade Pharmacy
Patients may need to book appointments as it’s a 20 minutes consultation and same day appointments are available.
If you need more contraception, the pharmacist are asking for you to book an appointment when you are half way through a pack so that you do not run out of medication.
